ACOUSTIC SPACES "designs technical facilities." We carefully arrive at a scope of work with all of our clients. The extent of our work can include a very complete set of CAD drawings, pages of specifications, 3D renderings, site visits, budget talks, project management, and final setup and testing of all systems.

We offer what you really need: in many other projects we provide a level of consulting or design of discrete elements within a facility (or home theater or project studio).

We perform on-going and scheduled testing and calibration for a film mix stage and other critical rooms. Recently, Acoustic Spaces helped a team of professionals (engineers, architects, planners) put together a multi-million dollar budget for renovations to another film facility. This project will soon start construction and we will provide all of the acoustic specifications such as how to build the walls and ceilings, and how to treat the doors. In the near past we also prepared a short, 4 page report on sound and isolation conditions at a supper club for use by lawyers negotiating between parties. Every month we are preparing and customising our "project studio design checklist" for small studios, a comprehensive list of questions and concerns---but with attention to the actual project, not a "formula"---to help studios on very tight budgets.

Often we are approached by clients who want to do some of the work themselves. While we caution where caution is appropriate, we will also provide the support to enable these projects.

We do not "push" any brands or manufacturers, we have used and analyzed "just about everything," and we can provide information from our experience, real uses and analysis of many products and systems. Acoustic Spaces regularly uses TAD drivers; A&B International, Chord and Crown amplifiers, ProAc, M&K, Genelec, and JBL loudspeakers--among others. We also have recently started using BSS Audio Soundweb and Dolby/Lake DSP Boxes to fine-tune rooms and speaker systems. Our design and plans are produced on Dell computers with Microsoft operating systems, with AutoCAD and Architectural Desktop; VIZ; Sketch-Up; Photoshop and Illustrator. We have 4 HP and one Epson printer/ plotters. Audio processing and routing here in the lab are by Soundweb and EMM Labs. Acoustic and audio analysis tools include CATT Acoustik; Acoustic-X; RPG programs and acoustic devices; Praxis; MLSSA; M-Audio; Earthworks; Goldline; Sony; Audio Precision; IVIE; B&K; and a lot of proprietary software, spreadsheets and gizmos.
