acoustic spaces

a very private, extremely well equipped FILM MIX STAGE for a well known filmmaker. Acoustic Spaces provided design and project supervision as well as all technical integration. Custom acoustic treatments are hidden within the finishes conceived by the owner; actualized by our staff and noted interior designer Sharon Baker. This stage is approved for Dolby printmastering and has all the features of a full size mix stage---several major motion pictures have been dubbed and mixed here, and dialogue recorded as well. Speaker system design by JSX with Acoustic Spaces. Monitor routing and processing by Soundweb.

EchoLab Studios is owned and operated by three producers in Denton, TX. This facility "make-over" had an extremely tight budget, and the goal was to maximize acoustics and ergonomics. Acoustic Spaces provided construction plans and consultation allowing "the boys" to build much of the studio acoustic treatments themselves. Controlroom treatments were "stock" from RPG and, being analog gear heads, the owners are now extremely pleased with their ability to hear as never before. Re-positioning console and gear, along with the acoustical plan solved severe low end problems.

This controlroom, one of two within Cristobal Studios, was conceived and designed for surround mixing as well as tracking. Featuring a customized JBL surround speaker system processed and routed by Soundweb, there are also two subwoofers for an extremely tight and balanced low end. Acoustic devices, from RPG and custom fabricated by Acoustic Spaces, are hidden behind a Nova Wall fabric finish. In conjunction with the owner's architect, lighting and furnishings were chosen to create a relaxed and 'away from it all' atmosphere. All integration and specifications for technical systems (HVAC; electric) are by Acoustic Spaces.
